Manage sales for the complete product range into an agreed UK & Ireland territory, achieving maximum sales potential through key-account management and developing business with new and existing customers.
The role is pivotal in driving sales growth and profitability within a defined territory aligned with the company's strategic vision.
You'll take a proactive approach to business development, identifying opportunities, acquiring new customers and nurturing existing relationships.
Key Accountabilities:
- Achieve and exceed budgeted sales targets and maximise profitability.
- Create focused plans for existing and emerging customers and sectors.
- Generate new business and bring in new customers.
- Lead and develop the sales team, including performance target setting and monitoring.
- Identify potential new areas for business development and growth.
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Maintain customer records through the CRM.
- Support account management alongside Service Delivery, PMO and Operations.
- Prepare budget pricing, proposals, quotations and tenders.
- Produce monthly sales forecasts and management reports.
- Gain appropriate client approvals or specifications using strong techno-commercial knowledge.
- Monitor markets, customer requirements, competitors and product developments.
Applicants need extensive engineering sales/business-development experience and experience dealing with multiple medium-to-large bids simultaneously.
You'll require knowledge of contract/framework agreements and the ability to negotiate and close profitable orders.
Detailed knowledge of low and medium-voltage transformers, switchgear products and automation systems is required, alongside previous experience selling to UK private-sector customers, DNOs, EPCs, ICPs and electrical-sector consultants.
An Electrical or Mechanical Engineering HNC/HND or relevant industry experience is required. Previous people-management experience or an Engineering Degree would be advantageous.
